Recyclobot: The Creation Process

From physical creation & photography to digital creation & construction, get a behind the scene view of what went into this project.

What is A “Recyclobot”?

Recyclobot is a hypothetical company, created to enhance my logo design and design process skills. The prompt given was that Recyclobot is a monthly subscription box geared towards parents of children aged 6-10 years old. The boxes will be received at random or by choice and will contain totally recyclable materials and/or household items that can be used to create the robot featured on the cover of the box. The purpose of Recyclobot is to evoke creativity in children and help them enhance real skills such as using scissors, glue sticks, tape, and more, as well as to learn how to build and follow instructions.

Process Summary

This project was composed of many steps including physical invention, logo design and poster/typography design. First, I had to come up with an idea and successfully piece together a robot out of fully recyclable materials and household arts and craft supplies. The next step which revolved around creating a logo for the hypothetical company was quite challenging, but well executed by the end. The final step included designing the front and back of an instructional poster which would double as a fact sheet.
